This course will be offered as a one day in person event and repeated in 4 on-line twilight sessions, you must commit to all 4 sessions if you choose this option.
Lead by: Alex Wolvers and Lynsay Jennings
A full day, in person, with the morning session on developing teachers’ subject knowledge and understanding of non-religious worldviews and the afternoon session on developing teachers’ subject knowledge and understanding of Christianity as a global faith.
During the morning session, there will be opportunities to explore the main concepts of a range of non-religious world views, including Humanism and Philosophy, alongside background information, practical activities and resources which can be embedded into classroom practice.
The afternoon session will consider four dimensions of Christianity in a global context: Christian history, faith and culture, global interfaith work, and culturally distinctive worship. This will include a look at practical activities and resources for bringing this unit alive in the classroom or through a RE drop-down day.
