Digital Christingle Service from Lichfield Cathedral

Lichfield Cathedral had hoped as a Cathedral to be able to welcome you in person to a Christingle service this December. Of course, this is not possible in this very different year. But they are delighted to be able to offer a digital service (lasting around 20 minutes) which, together with this order of service, can be used in classrooms, churches, or at home.

You’ll find attached to this email:

If you choose to use this resource, we would be very grateful if you would let us know. This information would be for the use of Lichfield Cathedral only.

Christmas in a Box

Christmas in a Box Resource List

Christmas in a Box User Guide

Christmas in a Box is a resource aimed at primary school children in Years 1-6.

The resource enables children to explore two key questions:
■ What do Christians believe about the characters in the
Christmas story? Learning ABOUT Christmas

■ What can I learn from the characters’ stories and apply
to my life? Learning FROM the Christmas story

It provides a simple, spiritual development and learning opportunity
for children of all faiths and none as they are invited to make their own
meaning from the story and apply it to their own lives.
Christmas in a Box encourages RE skills. It develops pupils’
knowledge and understanding of Christian belief about the Christmas
Story and provokes reflection, questioning, responding, expressing
and application of what they learn.

Culham St Gabriel’s Trust: Teach: RE Courses: New Opportunities!

We are offering those planning on undertaking Initial Teacher training from Autumn 2020, beginner teachers and all serving teachers two special opportunities until the end of August 2020: We have launched a FREE self-study module Religion and Worldviews: Developing subject knowledge for teaching. More information is available here.  We are aware teachers may want to undertake just one module of the Teach: RE Tailormade or 60 Hour course rather than undertaking the whole course. We are therefore opening up the course so you can pick just one module of your choice, be tutored through the module and have your work assessed. The cost for this is just £50. Please register for this here.

In addition, our FREE primary introduction course remains available and is particularly suitable for primary beginner teachers, NQTs, HLTAs. More information available here. If you have any questions or would like to have a conversation please contact [email protected]
