321 Course – Exploring Christian Faith
What is the 321 course?
People who work in our church schools are often passionate about the vision and values, and Christian distinctiveness of their school, because they see the difference this makes to the children in their care, and the whole school community. But staff sometimes feel they don’t have the opportunity or resources to look more deeply into Christian faith for themselves, or take the time to explore their own spiritual journey.
Because of this, the LDBE team, together with the wider diocese, want to offer this course as an opportunity for anyone involved in church schools to look at the story of Jesus and the claims of the Bible for themselves, in an unpressured, friendly environment.
321 is a course that invites you to see life the way Jesus does. Inspired by Jesus’ vision of reality, 321 is designed to help you think about God, the world and yourself through immersive videos and thoughtful illustrations.
The course is open to anyone, from any faith background or none, who is interested in exploring their own spiritual journey by looking more deeply into the Christian faith.
Details of the course:
How will the sessions be structured? Each session will begin with any thoughts or questions from the previous session. We will then watch the session video together which lasts about 15 minutes. There will then be about 20 minutes discussion based on the question prompts from the video. There are no right or wrong answers, and participants are free to ask their own questions and share their responses, or just to listen to others if they prefer.
Can I explore the resource materials?
If you are interested in signing up for the course, please feel free to explore the 321 resources for yourself if you would like to by clicking here. You will need to create a free account on the website in order to access the resources prior to the course, however you do not need to do this- you can just come along to the course without creating an account.
Where and when?
As this is a course that allows you to explore your own spiritual journey rather than being directly connected to teaching and school life, it is being run in an early evening time slot. The course will be run online, with options for 2 in person meet-ups, one part way through and one at the end of the course. The venue for the in-person meet ups will be decided based on who signs up to the course.
