Our termly SIAMS for School Leaders sessions provide dedicated time to keep up to date with national and diocesan developments, reflect on what these mean for your own school, and connect with other Church school leaders across the diocese. Each session also includes structured opportunities to work with other leaders in smaller groups, sharing practice, exploring common challenges and learning from one another’s experience.
Autumn Term – 8th October 2026 – National Findings and Self Evaluation
Drawing on the latest national SIAMS report and inspection findings, we will explore emerging themes and consider what these mean for Church school leadership and development. We will also consider the connections between SIAMS, Ofsted and effective self-evaluation, alongside a spotlight on one of the most significant themes emerging from recent inspections.

Spring Term – 4 February | Spotlight on Spirituality
Recent inspection findings continue to highlight spirituality as a significant area for development, particularly within IQ2 and IQ3. We will explore how schools develop a shared understanding and language of spirituality, create meaningful opportunities for spiritual development across the curriculum, and consider how collective worship contributes to the spiritual flourishing of pupils and adults. Alongside the latest SIAMS updates, we will draw on research and practice to consider connections with wellbeing, mental health and connected belonging.

Summer Term – 20th May | Spotlight on Justice and Responsibility
Our summer spotlight will respond particularly to emerging findings within IQ5, exploring how schools can deepen pupils’ understanding of justice, injustice and responsibility. We will consider how pupils develop the knowledge, confidence and agency to recognise injustice, make informed and ethical choices, challenge what they encounter, and understand how they can contribute to meaningful change within and beyond their communities.
Alongside the latest SIAMS updates, this final session will provide additional space for leaders to share effective practice from across the diocese, learn from one another and identify ideas that might inform development within their own school.
