Vision and Values

At St Martin’s Multi-Academy Trust, we believe that the best education happens when schools work together in a culture of trust, respect, and collaboration. Our vision is simple yet powerful: to create a place to thrive—for children, staff, and school communities.

As a small and responsive Trust, we build strong relationships with school leaders, working alongside them to provide practical support, coaching, and challenge. We believe in partnership, not prescription—every school in our Trust retains its unique identity while benefiting from collective expertise, shared resources, and strategic collaboration.

Our commitment to thoughtful and sustainable growth ensures that new schools joining us feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Looking to the future, we aspire to grow thoughtfully and intentionally, creating hubs of excellence where schools can work together in close partnership. This collaborative approach strengthens the networks between schools while preserving their individuality, enabling each to serve the unique needs of its community.

Strategic Priorities – Working together to…

… Support children to achieve their potential

  • Every school in our Trust is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, with 50% of our schools moving from Special Measures to Good since joining.
  • We have strengths in early reading, ensuring children develop strong foundations in literacy.
  • We focus on children in the gap, ensuring they receive targeted support and make progress.
  • Our schools prioritise pastoral care, with robust systems to support well-being so that every child feels safe, valued, and ready to learn.
  • We support schools in meeting the needs of children with additional and complex needs. Our Trust includes a specialist resource base for children with autism, ensuring expert provision and inclusive practice.

… Improve the quality of teaching

  • The Teacher Toolkit provides a clear and practical framework that supports teachers in developing their craft through self-reflection, structured coaching, and peer support.
  • We believe in growing great teachers and leaders. Many of our senior leaders began their careers in our schools.
  • Our Trust-wide ECT network provides mentoring, training, and peer support to ensure new teachers thrive.
  • We work alongside school leaders, using coaching, honest conversations, and structured support to ensure teaching continues to improve.
  • Struggling teachers aren’t left to sink or swim—we provide expert mentoring, targeted coaching, and peer collaboration to help them succeed.

… Solve problems

  • We help schools manage the pressures of leadership by ensuring that compliance, safeguarding, and resource management run smoothly, allowing leaders to focus on delivering great education.
  • Our responsive approach means that when a challenge arises—whether it’s staffing, curriculum, or leadership capacity—we don’t just advise, we act.
  • We work as a critical friend, offering both challenge and support to empower leaders to make confident decisions.

People, Leadership, and Governance

At St Martin’s Multi-Academy Trust, we believe that people are at the heart of every successful school. We are committed to developing and supporting staff at all levels, ensuring they have the resources, training, and professional development to excel. Through a coaching-led approach, we empower leaders to grow in confidence, refine their decision-making, and lead with purpose.

Strong governance underpins everything we do. We maintain high standards of transparency, accountability, and risk management, ensuring that schools in our Trust flourish with the right balance of autonomy and support. Our governance structures provide clear oversight while enabling leaders to focus on what matters most—delivering exceptional education and ensuring every child thrives.

Collaboration and Partnership

At St Martin’s Multi-Academy Trust, we know that strong schools are built through strong partnerships.

  • Our network groups connect staff across schools, providing opportunities to share best practice, tackle challenges together, and develop expertise as a collective.
  • While we work closely as a Trust, we respect and celebrate the distinct identities of each school, ensuring they retain their individuality while benefiting from collaboration.
  • Our approach is not about standardisation—it’s about strengthening schools so that every community can thrive.

By working together, we create schools where children flourish, teachers grow, and leaders succeed.
