The Key Educational Trust was established in April 2016 and adopted Majority Articles in March 2025.

Our Trust supports schools serving children from age 4 to 13, including first, primary and middle-deemed secondary schools. We also welcome non-designated faith schools to join our family of schools.

We are building a family of schools who are prepared to truly collaborate, and the Trust welcomes the approach of any school, or group of schools, interested in joining the MAT, regardless of size, location or denomination if they share the desire to help all children to achieve their best.

The Key Educational Trust provides access to each school’s unique and innovative resources, approaches, experts and services. These range from leadership, teaching for learning and curriculum expertise through to full finance, HR and wider support through the Trust.

Our Vision at The Key Educational is:

“To enable all children to achieve their best, reach their potential and contribute fully to society through creating an environment which stimulates, challenges and instils a love of lifelong learning and which is enhanced through the promotion of our Christian Values.”

The Trust has Christian values at its heart and, as well as encouraging mutual respect amongst children looks outward to its links with both the church and the wider community.

We look to challenge our learners in a supportive, caring environment so that they develop a thirst for learning, a desire to try new things and to achieve their best.

We believe every young person deserves the best possible start in life – a first-class education aimed at helping the children in our schools become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.

Our goals at The Key Educational Trust are:

  • To establish a network of great schools who share similar values, aspirations and a commitment to succeed for all learners.
  • To be at the forefront of collaborative working practices, leading to excellent outcomes for all young people, their families and the local community.
  • To enable the continuous improvement of the member schools in their pursuit of excellence.
  • To make the best possible use of limited funding through efficiencies in the provision and procurement of goods and services.
  • To remove the barriers of low aspiration and achievement in all the schools and communities the schools serve.

The Key Educational Trust is committed to providing fully inclusive and inspiring learning opportunities so that all achieve excellent outcomes.
